My Dad
A man I was pround to call dad. He was my stepdad but I never liked that word at all to me he was my dad, I lost my own dad at the age of eight and my mam remarried two years so to me this is my dad, he is the man that clothed and feed me and made me the person that I am now.
Dad was there for all his family had a bit more patience than mam did but he did mellow my mam as well. Dad would see things from both sides and would always come up trumps so that everyone was happy, he would turn the clouds from grey to sunshine and things would always seem brighter and that things were not as bad as you thought.
Dad died a year and five days after my mam did, this was of a broken heart I think he loved mam so very much and it was hard for him to swallow after she had gone and that he give up the will to live to be with her now I know that they will be happy together again.

DAD IT WAS A SUDDEN PARTING,
TOO BITTER TO FORGET,

WE OFTEN SIT AND THINK OF YOU
AND THINK OF HOW YOU DIED,
TO THINK THAT YOU COULD NOT SAY GOODBYE
BEFORE YOU CLOSED YOUR EYES.
YOUR LIFE WAS ONE OF KINDLY DEEDS,
A HELPING HAND FOR OTHERS NEEDS,
SINCERE AND TRUE IN HEART AND MIND,
BEAUTIFUL MEMORIES YOU LEFT BEHIND.
THE BLOW WAS HARD THE SHOCK SERVERE,
TO PART WITH ONE WE LOVED SO DEAR,
OUR LOSS IS GREAT WE’LL NOT COMPLAIN’
BUT TRUST IN GOD TILL WE MEET AGAIN.
TWO TIRED EYES ARE SLEEPING,
TWO WILLING HANDS ARE STILL,
THE ONE THAT WORKED SO HARD FOR US,
IS RESTING AT GODS WILL.
OUR FAMILY CHAIN IS BROKEN,
