My Dad
A man I was pround to call dad. He was my stepdad but I never liked that word at all to me he was
my dad, I lost my own dad at the age of eight and my mam remarried two years so to me this is my
dad, he is the man that clothed and feed me and made me the person that I am now.
Dad was there for all his family had a bit more patience than mam did but he did mellow my mam as
well. Dad would see things from both sides and would always come up trumps so that everyone was
happy, he would turn the clouds from grey to sunshine and things would always seem brighter and that
things were not as bad as you thought.
Dad died a year and five days after my mam did, this was of a broken heart I think he loved mam so
very much and it was hard for him to swallow after she had gone and that he give up the will to live
to be with her now I know that they will be happy together again.

I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there are no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
If I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is over.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
But together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too;

If you can help somebody who is in sorrow and pain;
Then you can say to God at night....'My day was not in vain.
And now I am contented... that my life was worthwhile.
Knowing as I passed along the way I made somebody smile.'
